FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND MOTORSPORTS CLUB – Rally Sprint
Our Rally Sprint events are an introductory (level 2 motorsport) event sanctioned by Motorsports Australia. It concentrates on skill, vehicle agility and acceleration. The Crew may consist of or two persons. The supplementary Regulations for the event must specify the number in the crew. If the supplementary Regulations provide for two persons in the crew one shall be nominated as the driver, who must drive the vehicle throughout the completion. Co-drivers will not be required to compete in the same vehicle throughout the event, the winner is determined as having the lowest total elapsed times of the prescribed tests, inclusive of any penalties awarded.

FNQMSC S1 Rally Sprint
CREW ELIGIBILITY
For a S1 Rallysprint, each crew member must hold a minimum of a Motorsports Australia Level 2S licence.
Junior licence.
The minimum age for drivers and co-drivers in a FNQMSC S1 Rallysprint is 16 years.
If the event is a part of a Series or Championship the driver will accrue points in each class,
however, they will only receive outright points based on the results obtained by one vehicle.
Prior to the start of competition, the driver must nominate which vehicle’s results are to be
used for outright Series or Championship points.
Number in vehicle:
The crew may consist of one or two persons. The Supplementary
Regulations for the event must specify the number in the crew. If the Supplementary
Regulations provide for two persons in the crew one shall be nominated as the driver, who must drive the vehicle throughout the competition. Co-drivers will not be required to compete in the same vehicle throughout the event.
VEHICLES:
Each vehicle must comply with Schedule A of the Motorsports Australia manual of motorsport.
Supplementary Regulations may further restrict the categories of
eligible vehicles, for example:
Whether the competition will be limited to two and/or four wheel drive vehicles and, if required,
appropriate class divisions.
Whether there will be classes based on vehicle type and/or engine capacity, and if required,
appropriate class divisions.
In each Rallysprint event, the following minimum requirements shall be met
A 1.0 KG fire extinguisher AS1841.5 and compliant at the commencement of each run.
Fire extinguisher is to be properly fitted in the passenger compartment With GRADE 8 HIGH TENSILE BOLTS.
An effective exhaust shall be fitted at all times and noise emissions shall not exceed maximum levels, as determined by Motorsports Australia.
The use of Rally competition tyres is approved unless specified in event Supplementary Regulations;
A Minimum TYPE 2 safety cage as specified in Schedule J shall be fitted to each vehicle competing in a FNQMSC S1 Rallysprint.
Where a vehicle is fitted with a full safety cage complying with Schedule J, attention is drawn to
Schedule J Article 4.1. For each vehicle fitted with a safety cage, the use of a CAMS log book is
strongly recommended;
For an FNQMSC S1 Rallysprint, a minimum of a 4 point safety harness is required for each crew member.
Two reflective safety triangles must be carried in each vehicle, mounted in the driving compartment,
such that each crew member can retrieve the triangle for use quickly
Apparel:
HELMET:
Minimum Australian standard AS 1698, Frontal Head Restraint, Not mandatory but highly recommended
CLOTHES:
Minimum long sleeve non flammable shirt, Minimum long trousers non flammable, Enclosed shoes
DRUG & ALCOHOL:
Zero drug and alcohol tolerance, 0.0 Blood alcohol tested each morning before commencement
CLUB REGULATIONS:
Secured battery, Horn, Full panel car and bumpers, No Cracks in Windscreen, Covered Shoes, Cotton Clothing, Helmet with no Rust, Neck Brace (optional). Also follow Motorsports Australia Regulations.
